” This is a real opinion, My girlfriend is studying there since Fall 2023, in the beginning you don’t realize the quality of the contents since the 95% of the new students are new and we are looking for job and the only thing in the head is search stability. Anyways, from the second semester we are disappointed about the quality of all the contents including the teachers, we are paying more than 11K CAD per semester, to study 3 months, all the classes finishes 40 minutes or even 1 hours before, and the teachers don’t prepare the classes how it’s needed, sometimes they arrive to read presentations that wasn’t created by them. I have talked with more students since I go to the installations (that are very good) and they thought the same. It’s sad since it supposed to be high quality education, and we are paying a lot for mediocre education. If you want to study here or in Canada, please speak with other students before paying high amounts and get disappointed in any point of the studies. “
” Request: Bring a one-year cybersecurity program that anyone can enroll in; it could be done. Search: 2024 Cybersecurity Skills Gap Global Research Report. Government organizations like CSE/CST need specialists. Here is what ChatGPT gives: Introduction to Cybersecurity, Networking and Network Security, Introduction to Cloud Computing and Security, Programming for Cybersecurity, Scripting and Automation for Cybersecurity, Network Security and Firewall Management, Ethical Hacking and Penetration Testing, Incident Response and Digital Forensics, Database Security Management and Implementation (SQL and NoSQL systems), DevOps and Security, Cybersecurity Analytics and Risk Management, Security Policies and Compliance, Practical Applications and Projects. An alternative list provided by ChatGPT: Introduction to Cybersecurity, Networking Fundamentals and Protocols, Programming for Cybersecurity (Python and Bash), Operating Systems and Virtual Environments, Network Security and Traffic Analysis, Ethical Hacking and Vulnerability Analysis, Malware Analysis and Reverse Engineering, Cyber Threat Intelligence and Reporting, Threat Modeling and Threat Hunting, Secure Coding and Exploit Development (C/C++), Incident Response and Digital Forensics, Security Policies and Compliance, Field Placement. Alternatively, consider offering a foundational one-year graduate certificate that is open to all, providing a strong basis for pursuing the existing cybersecurity program and serving as a strong foundation for data science programs. This program should also serve as a standalone qualification for modern IT skills needed in the workplace, enabling individuals to work in related sectors in full-fledged roles. At the very least, it should equip students to succeed in roles with AI assistance. Inspiration for such a program structure could be drawn from the University of Galway’s Software Engineering Diploma, Charles Sturt University’s Graduate Diploma of Professional Information Technology, Victoria University’s Diploma of Information Technology, etc. Something that ChatGPT spit out is the following, a 14 course program: Introduction to Programming, Data structures, and Algorithms (Python), Introduction to Database Design and SQL, Introduction to IT Infrastructure and Operations, Operating Systems and Linux Basics, Networking Fundamentals, Advanced Programming and Object-Oriented Design (Java), Introduction to TypeScript (JavaScript), Web Development Fundamentals (Web Development with Node and Express), Introduction to Cloud Computing (AWS), Introduction to Cyber and Information Security, Introduction to Data Science Principles and Techniques, Applied Machine Learning (TensorFlow and Keras), Practical Applications and Projects. Bring a one-year Data Science program that anyone can enroll in; it could be done. The government is hiring for such positions, and they require at least 10 related courses. Here is what ChatGPT gives: Introduction to Data Science and AI, Programming for Data Science, Math for Data Science, Data Management and Querying in SQL and NoSQL Databases, Data Wrangling and Preprocessing, Introduction to Machine Learning, Advanced Machine Learning (Deep learning, neural networks, and model optimization), Data Visualization, Big Data Technologies, Machine Learning Operations and Model Pipelines, Data Engineering, Data Ethics and Privacy, Practical Applications and Projects. Then provide additional electives or as a special topic the following: Text Mining and Natural Language Processing (NLP), Graph Theory and Social Network Analysis, Applied Predictive Modeling, cause jobs that government posts ask for it. Why do it? Because even strip mall colleges are doing it, Udemy gig-workers are doing it, and YouTube institutions are doing it. However, getting courses from a recognized post-secondary institution helps in landing jobs or transferring credits to master’s programs run elsewhere. Please consider bringing it. “
” They refused to make any exceptions to their refund policy. My son lost his deposit of $500 because he decided to go somewhere else. He was first accepted in a program he wanted and then they later decided he doesn’t qualify, so he decided to go somewhere else. He tried to reason with them about other possible options to utilize the money but no luck. They don’t even let you transfer the deposit money to someone else. It’s pure robbery in my opinion. $500 is a lot of money for a student who worked all summer to save for their tuition. My advice is don’t pay the deposit unless you are %100 sure you’re going to Algonquin. “
