Foundations Montessori School
” After homeschooling for several years, we chose Foundations Montessori for our son after exploring our primary school options. The small community, the one-on-one attention, and individual student approach was perfect for our son. He would come home happy everyday and made friends very quickly in a loving and supportive environment. Through the years, Foundations has helped him to excel in all areas of his studies. During the Pandemic, the online learning was easy to access and not at all overwhelming. He received lots of individual attention through one-on-one online meetings as often or as little as he required. He even made requests, himself, when he needed assistance with an assignment. The outdoor home visits and ice cream drop offs were a special personal touch. As a small school population, he sometimes had only a few fellow students in his grade. This was never a bad thing. He was supported and taken under the wing of the older students when he was younger and has learned to do the same as the oldest student in grade 8. As parents, we will miss this school community and I say, with the highest compliment, in the way that a bird doesn’t look back at his fledgling nest, that our son will not miss Foundations because they have set him up for success in the world. “
” One of my children attended Foundations for several years, and we had an excellent experience. The Montessori curriculum, coupled with the interactive and enriching learning opportunities, really encouraged my child to excel in areas that we never though possible. Before attending Foundations, my child could not read at grade level (due to the compounded effects of Covid school closures), and now my child can read and write clearly and proficiently. As a bonus, my child excels at math and has become proficient in higher level math that one of their older siblings finds very difficult. Foundations also sets children up for re-integrating into the public school system successfully. The classroom structure and respect for peers and schoolwork really promotes self-sufficiency and independence. We’ve very much enjoyed out time at this school and would fully recommend it. “
” Well rounded education in nurturing environment! Foundations Montessori is for Grade 1 to Grade 8 and follows the Montessori method of child directed learning. My son had a lot of performance anxiety and wasn’t learning in the regular school system. In this calm and nurturing environment he is thriving in every way. They take the time here to develop emotional intelligence as well as academic. When I drop him off in the morning I feel so good that his whole person is being developed and he feels safe and cared for. I can’t say enough about this school. Small classrooms (his has couches and a fireplace) and one-on-one Orton-Gillingham tutoring which was a game changer for him. Very reasonable tuition and a beautiful meadow where they play at recess. “
