Grace Evangelical Lutheran School
” Thought we worked everything out but apparently the same behaviors that occurred last year are now rampant again in this school this year. If you are looking for a Christian school this isn’t the one for your child. It is far from Christian. Teacher’s are lazy, kids are rude and bullies. Favoritism runs wild. And if you aren’t “Keeping up with the Johnson’s” you will be treated differently and your voice won’t really be heard. Make sure you have some type of back up plan if you send your children here. UPDATE: I’d like to actually say that this year has been awesome so far. There is a new principle who really cares about the kids, listens to all concerns and the staff and I seem to be on the same page again. Communication is open, honest, and respectful. My daughter is thriving and she is happy. Last year was her first year in the school and it was a hard transition. I’m thankful for what the staff is teaching her, instilling in her and encouraging her to do this year. They are really pouring into her this year and it’s made a HUGE and amazing difference not only in her academics but in her overall confidence . Based off of this, I’d like to raise this review. We feel really blessed to be part of Grace. :) There is alot of miscommunication within the school. There is no permanent principle making things very disorganized. They don’t really offer extra help if your child is struggling in a particular subject. The staff was really nice in the beginning of the year when my daughter first started and then as soon as I challenged their lack of communication, and other issues, even the front end staff started speaking to me in a condesending, rude & nasty way. They were allowing my child to take extra milks ect in the lunch room and charging me without me ever knowing for 3 months! When I called about this the front desk receptionist was really rude and and told me “she guesses they can let my daughter and the staff know that she can’t have extra milks or entree’s but that’s probably going to be embarrasing” They didn’t take responsibility for charging me or allowing her to take these extra items or even letting me know for 3 months. She told me I should have looked on Sycamore. WOW, I was also wondering why my child would be embarrased if she was pulled aside away from all the children and told no to the extra? Why would they purposefully embarrass her? That’s what it sounded like to me. Just beware that if they staff doesn’t like you than they don’t like your child. This came from a few different parents as well. I also should add that if you addressed a concern with your child and another student ( because the staff was aware that threatning was taking place i.e notes passed / verbally about harming my child physically) and it was NOT even brought up to me or told to me (another parent had to call me and tell me that my child was being bullied and the staff was not doing anything about it) don’t expect anything to get resolved for a least a month. They are now calling and wanting to have a meeting about a situation that happened OVER a month ago. No thanks. We resolved it already…… Hopefully things can change soon. No wonder they turned this into a Wisconsin Choice Private School. It was to good to be true. We all deserve good customer service, good education and respect. I have also made mistakes by going off on the staff and even if I was in the right I could have handled it better because now there is a HUGE disconnect. “
” I have 3 kids in the school and I doubt youll be able to find a more caring staff for young children in southeastern wisconsin anywhere. They go the extra mile with your children and the teachers love their jobs which is evident in their teaching. I highly recommend Grace as a school that will give your child a great Christian Education. “
