Rowan Tree Children’s School
” As a parent, finding a nurturing and stimulating environment for my daughter was a top priority, and Rowan Tree has truly exceeded my expectations. The staff at Rowan Tree School are incredibly dedicated and passionate about their work. They create a warm and welcoming atmosphere that fosters learning and personal growth. My daughter has thrived here, benefiting from their individualized approach to education that meets each child’s unique needs. The curriculum is engaging and well-rounded, incorporating a variety of subjects and hands-on activities that ignite curiosity and inspire a love for learning. I appreciate how the school emphasizes not only academic development but also social skills and emotional well-being, preparing children to navigate the world around them with confidence. What truly sets Rowan Tree School apart from public schools is its personalized attention and smaller class sizes, allowing for more tailored instruction and support for each student. This environment fosters stronger relationships between educators and students, promoting a deeper understanding of each child’s learning style and interests. Additionally, the integrated approach to education, focusing on emotional intelligence alongside academic achievement, creates a holistic learning experience that is often harder to find in larger public school settings. Overall, I highly recommend Rowan Tree School. It has provided my daughter with an exceptional educational experience and a solid foundation for her future. We are grateful for the positive impact this school has had on our lives. “
” My children have attended Rowan Tree Children’s School for the past 8 years in various ways – Preschool, Nature Kindergarten and Forest Fridays. The relationships and experiences that they had while there fostered community mindedness, friendship, respect, connection and appreciation for the natural world and so much learning. Held in the container of deeply caring teachers and staff, my children felt the safety and warmth of their community. Rowan Tree has been foundational in their development as grounded humans and built resilience within them. “
” Our four children attended Rowan Tree from preschool through the grade school years while we lived in the area, and it was an incredibly positive experience for our family. The teachers are kind, caring, knowledgeable, and deeply invested in the children. Our kids learned practical life skills, developed strong academics in meaningful and contextual ways, and were consistently challenged and supported both emotionally and academically. They spent the majority of their days outdoors, building a strong connection to nature and their community. Some of their favourite experiences included Entrepreneur Club, Track & Field, Ski Club, days spent exploring Jackson Park, and helping create beloved community events like the May Fair and Winter Fair. They collected apples, made cider, and shared it with the community. They tapped maple trees, made syrup, and shared that as well. These experiences taught cooperation, responsibility, creativity, and community-mindedness in ways that go far beyond a traditional classroom. Most importantly, our children formed lasting friendships and developed confidence, resilience, and a love of learning. Rowan Tree provided a truly wholesome education, and we remain grateful for the years our family spent there. “
