” I have been working at Oakwood Academy going on 4 years now. I have never in my career worked with a more dedicated, capable and talented team. The teachers, therapists, supervisors and directors sincerely care about every single student, and really believe in their theory and approach. It is an honour to work with this team! “
” If your child is autistic or has legitimate special needs, Oakwood MAY be a suitable school for you. Do your research first. However, if you child merely has ADHD, you need to know that Oakwood is little more than a glorified daycare facility. Academics are not a priority, nor is discipline and responsibility. The teachers are all very young and seem to have little to no formal teaching experience. If the school decides your child needs additional support, they will unilaterally make the decision, invoice you (thousands), and suspend your child if you dispute the additional fees. It’s simply extortion by a private business. “
” I would highly recommend Oakwood Academy to parents seeking an individualised education for their child. A child’s social & emotional development is at the foundation of the program which provides a small classroom environment where a child’s sensory needs can be met & they can truly thrive. Our son loves attending Oakwood where he has made friends & is fully engaged in the academic program. Since starting, we have seen significant progress in his social, fine motor & gross motor skills as well as academics. The staff, teachers, & therapists at Oakwood are compassionate & understanding in their approach while providing an exceptional level of support to students & their families. “
” Where to start? Our family moved to Canada in the summer of 2016. We were looking for a proper school for our daughters. We set up a day for the girls to attend summer camp at Oakwood academy. The girls had a blast. Had a meeting with Oakwood staff and we decided this was the school for our girls. Going on 3 plus years with Oakwood we are glad we choose Oakwood academy. Every member of the staff is so dedicated to the children who attend the school. I would encourage families to stop by and see what Oakwood Academy has to offer. Small class sizes to individual classes. Oakwood Academy has been so wonderful to my daughters!!!! I highly recommend Oakwood Academy!!! “
” We are very happy with Oakwood Academy. We searched (and tried) other schools for our son (with asd) and none of them compare to Oakwood. Their teachers and assistants are caring, patient, and understanding. Our son has reached great levels in his development and academically with the help of their wonderful staff and therapists. They communicate well and often with parents, and any concerns made are looked into. It is our 3rd year and we look forward to the next school years… “
