Joan of Arc Academy
” Amazing school, a great big family to raise a happy, smart, confidence girl. The class sizes are small and therefore students get lots of attention from their teachers. Our family loves this school and my husband and I are so happy our daughter is a part of JOA family. Everybody is incredibly nice and friendly, all the girls know each other by name and those from upper grades take care of smaller ones. We joined Joan of Arc Academy on September 2019 and we are very happy with our decision. We would highly recommend this school. “
” We moved our daughter from our local public school to Joan of Arc Academy for grades 7 and 8 and have been very pleased with the school. The environment is very nurturing and builds confident, resilient young women. The principal and teachers are engaged and supportive and they really come to know your child. We also love that the school provides a bilingual environment with a challenging curriculum – very strong in all areas. The small class sizes allow for a lot of individual attention to the students while fostering relationships with them. The girls plan and participate in a variety of community activities which is also very important. Highly recommend! “
” My daughter started Joan of Arc Academy starting this year Sep 2019, She enjoys school so much and feels proud for herself. Academy have Robotics/Arts/Dance/soccer/running club inside school as well. And “Yes” Parents do have to volunteer to school, so it’s like a family. And yes they do very good studies as well with lot of experiments for science teachings. They take kids to multiple field trips as well. “
” Our girls joined the Academy in January 2019. As they are both in Kindergarten and being taught entirely in French, their second language capability has immediately and dramatically improved. From day one, they were very warmly welcomed by the entire school. Very quickly, students of all ages knew them by name and helped them feel part of a nurturing community. As well as small class sizes and focused attention, there is a tremendous focus on developing character and confidence. It’s a really special place and we’re thrilled we made the decision to invest in their education ahead of the pressures of adolescence and high school. We had no idea there was an affordable, fully-bilingual private girls’ school in Ottawa. Now we do, we’re in no doubt we made a great choice for our girls. “
” We absolutely love this school! Our daughter started at Joan of Arc Academy in grade 5, just over two years ago, and the whole experience has transformed her in the best of ways. She has blossomed into a confident, happy and creative young woman thanks to the extremely caring teachers and staff. The girls at the school are like one big family and they encourage individuality and are very accepting of differences in others. The academic program is challenging but there is lots of individual attention from the teachers to help the girls succeed. My daughter’s writing skills have improved in ways I could not have imagined possible. She has also gained confidence in public speaking and arts and science presentations, even though before attending the school she was unable to speak in public. As well, the school has a strong emphasis on STEM education and brings scientists into the school to work with the girls. I wish we had been able to send her there right from kindergarten! “
