Junior Academy, The

” It took us some time to think if we should write this review, but after all what we went through, all of the headaches and how shortsighted Junior Academy daycare COO (who, buy the way has no education background) and educators-teachers were in our experience. We don’t wish any parent to experience what we went through! My daughter went there just for 6 months and although she did not speak, teachers at the beginning were patient, but asked to go for a developmental assessment as teachers were worried that she might have signs of autism and so we made an appointment that was scheduled 4 months later (as it takes a while to see a specialist). About 3 months being in daycare we were scheduled to meet with teachers and the COO and Director told us that our daughter is allowed to attend daycare with a full time assistant and gave us 1 week notice unless we hire a full time assistant! We thought that it was unreasonable considering that my daughter was not diagnosed with anything at that point, 2 educators taught that she was too hard to deal with (anger tantrums and inability to speak at that point in time). She was just 2,5 years old!!!!!! We think that the teachers were ok and treated our daughter well, however not sure why this situation was not resolved in a much better manner to find a solution that would fit the child. It was dealt in a way that was better for the daycare and not for the child which is wrong and does not put child needs first! “

” Two of my children attend Junior Academy and are having an excellent school experience. They are thriving academically and socially. The teachers and staff do a great job. We especially like the small classroom size and the curriculum. “

The level of attention each student receives and the passion for education from the entire staff seems to be second to none. I would highly suggest you attend an open house to see what a great school this is for your children. “

” Junior Academy year-in-and-year-out exceeds every expectation I have of how a private school should teach. I have researched every other private school in the GTA and none of them provide the same personal attentiveness to the kids, as Junior Academy. Gratitude and indebtedness are two words that I think of every-time Junior Academy comes up in conversation, but are still lacking when it comes to the appreciation I feel towards the faculty.
