” They deleted a one star review I left 3 years ago. A decent chunk of the five star reviews are from the teachers. The school only downfalls as every year passes. “

” I have 3 kids in this school and we are moving out of this school. Many of our friends also are moving to a different school. The Punjabi teacher is the main reason. The only thing she is interested is in Khalistani movement and turning children into extremism. Every day she has to talk about khalistan inside the classroom and forces children to engage in discussing bindrawale. So much so, that some students who have taken into this extremism threaten other kids now. This school was doing well under the previous principal Ms. Meena Singh. The current principal is toothless and cannot reign in this nonsense. In private many teachers are advising us to move out because of religious extremism being brought into the classroom by he Punjabi teacher. She teaches the same thing in all grades. All 3 kids of mine get the same work…write essay about Bindrawale…what great things he has done etc. She cannot think of anything else that Sikhism offers. Nothing on the gurus or his virtuous followers. Only extremist ideas and berating other religions. SHAME on the management to be doing this in this beautiful country. “

” Khalsa school Malton is an INCREDIBLE school. Our child’s and our experience has been 100% positive since past FOUR YEARS, including Covid-19 homeschooling. The teachers here provide, what I would term as ‘affectionate guidance’ which is rare (if at all even possible!) to obtain elsewhere. They really get to know their students well and keep on top of their students’ strengths and areas of improvement. Our child is SIGNIFICANTLY more intelligent, more respectful, more resilient and has a strong sense of spirituality (and not just ‘religion’), than other children of same age I have across and can solve problems very creatively. In other words, our child comes to us with solutions because he has been trained to think of problems as opportunities and to ask intelligent questions. I am routinely surprised (often shocked) at how much he learns in every subject and how he ends up applying it to life. Our kid has almost never asked us for help with homework because he has been taught well by the school teachers on how to either do something or how to negotiate or present his case as to why he did or did not do the homework. The kids were routinely told during homeschooling that they should only ask their parents for help if absolutely necessary, even the little ones. So, I never felt like I was spending time from my busy schedule to do homework. In addition to their world class curriculum, the school also teaches and provides a strong environment for the kids on how real life works. What other schools can do that? Not to mention, our child has a very happy disposition. There is no bullying. In fact, nothing ever even gets lost in this school! Our child has never lost anything since he started there in Kindergarten! That’s how close knit the teachers and other students are. None of the other students steal from each other. Teachers are a significant part of your child’s lives as they are with them most of their waking hours and the teachers here in Khalsa school Malton take that responsibility with seriousness and joy. I have had experience with few other schools and though they were okay, it’s Khalsa school Malton that has really blown my mind. You know the school is good when you don’t feel the urge to look elsewhere. Additionally, the school consistently gets 100% EQAO scores and is IB designated for their middle years program (MYP). For what the school offers, their fees are nominal. I agree that there are many cosmetic improvements that the school can use. And if you cannot donate money or time, or start some committee to help improve, then cribbing about it online isn’t at all useful. I also took the time to read all other previous reviews and many of them are quite poor quality and seem like they are from the same person with different accounts. This is hands-down an absolutely exceptional foundational school. Period. “

” Here are my observations of past two years of my child in elementary grades. – Academic: Fraser rating of 10/10 is quite evident in the school’s curriculum and teaching style. Teachers get each student understand the concepts well, practice enough. Project work keeps their creative side up and groom their presentation skills. – Religion teaching helps inculcate superior human values in kids. I am not sikh yet have a firm belief in values and teachings in sikhism. – Teachers and staff are highly committed and responsive. I have seen them responding to queries even in late evenings. – The infrastructure is not high class, yet i never observed anything missing as a facility to my child. Overall I rate this school as a great place for child’s all round development. “
