Lauremont School – Lower School
” Lauremont, formally Toronto Montessori School (TMS), is a wonderful school where I spent many fond memories as a child, and now where my children attend. The environment is one of caring and compassion, where teacher’s really take pride on continuing to hone their craft and create safe learning environments for children to grow and express themselves. My girls love this school, and I love hearing about all the things they learn. No regrets on enrolling them here. “
” If you’re looking for a school to challenge your children academically this probably isn’t it. They are unwilling to accelerate students even one grade level up, and the administration had no willingness or any sense of commitment to help our daughter meet her aptitudes. It was a straight “no we are not willing to do that” to creating an academically appropriate environment. I can imagine what it’s like for any students who are trying to excel. Schools should be pushing us forward, not holding us back – may as well stick to the public stream. Essentially, you’re taking your kids to this school to show off to your friends. “
” Our 2 children attend TMS. They’re currently enrolled in children’s house. We’re very pleased with the school and how efficient they’ve been with responding to concerns. As mentioned in another comment, Mrs. Reid is amazing with ensuring things are running smoothly in this section/program, she’s totally on top of things. Our kids love their school and always come home happy. Every week we see how they’re evolving. They’re making us proud and we have TMS to thank for that. “
” The toddler program is excellent and the Children’s house program is good. Both are overseen by Carolyn Reid: she listens to parents and works with them to address concerns and overcome issues. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for elementary grades. They are not worth the $25.7K tuition fees. Classes are not consistent (some are at lower standards than others), and Rachel Marks takes no action in response to concerns and issues. She is inexperienced and non-responsive; effectively says everything is fine but it is not. The Zoom learning has been a mess: there has been no action in response to parent feedback. TMS offers only 1-2 hours per day for some lower elementary students yet have offered zero discounts for the poor e-learning program for lower elementary. “
” TMS school encourages their students to rise above the top in academics and provides a great place to make friendships and connections. It is an open and comfortable environment for everyone, thus allowing there to be such amazing teachers and opportunities for students to get the help they need. Overall it is a tremendous school, allowing students to prosper and prepare them for further and higher learning. “
