Lodestar Montessori School
” Lodestar has been a saving grace for our family. I have a son who’s high functioning asd so picking the RIGHT school for him was extremely important for his success. I knew I wasn’t going the public school route with his needs, so I was left with only a few private options. Originally he was enrolled and registered with GMA, but something didn’t feel 100 percent about my decision to put him in there. Don’t get me wrong that’s a great school too, just not what we were looking for. It wasn’t until we bought a house near lodestar that I realized there was a Montessori school in Bracebridge. I always liked the idea of Montessori but never looked much into it. My gut told me to book a meeting/tour with the school to check it out. My first impression of the school when I arrived was that it was a cute, small, and well taken care of building. The inside was bright, spacious, organized, and focused happy children filled the main room. Erin and Christy took my mom and I on a very thorough tour explaining everything they do at Montessori. Throughout my questions and concerns about my sons needs were addressed and I was told exceptions could be made for my problem. I loved that his needs would be taken seriously and adjusted to what he needed to thrive. The curriculum was explained in detail, we got to see the kids in their work cycles, we got to meet the teachers and ask questions. Everything was open and honest. I knew after leaving that it was the school for my son. Fast forward almost a year my son has thrived in every aspect. He has learned things he never would have in a public setting. He’s become very compassionate, loving, and has increased his social skills beyond what I could have hoped. Child led learning is what my boy thrives off and that’s the Montessori way. He loves school so much and often gets mad at me if we’re running late. He’s made friends, they learn impressive things for their age, and he’s genuinely very happy there. I couldn’t have picked a better place for him to go. His brother will be attending this year as well that’s how much I love the school. The teachers are the best in the business and I have the most respect for them. They go above and beyond a typical teacher. They have a deep connection with my child so much so they know everything about him and reach out after hours just to check in or let me know a milestone reached. If there are any concerns it’s always brought up and we discuss it and work through it as a team. Everything is very transparent and you feel proud to be apart of such a great community. That’s what Lodestar is! It’s a wonderful community of like minded families and staff who can connect and be apart of something wonderful. I love Lodestar and highly recommend the school to any and everyone. It’s worth checking the school out yourself in person if you have any questions! “
” There are truly no words how lodestar Montessori changed our lives! Our son was really struggling in school, so we reached out and Christy and Erin were nothing but amazing helping us with the transition! Miss Jenny is also one of the best teachers I have ever met. Hands down. She is so caring; empathetic and kind! I could go on and on. This Montessori community has truly been life changing for our family, and we are forever grateful ❤️ “
” I have nothing but good things to say! My daughter attended a few weeks of summer camp and absolutely loved it. First week of school and is really settling in well. Staff is easy going and definitely making amazing memories with the kids. So excited for the years to come with lodestar. “
” Lodestar has helped our whole family through the toddler stage, helping our son grow and self regulate, enjoy life, friends and find his strengths. The staffs openness and willingness to collaborate with us as parents is extremely supportive with the toddler years and development stages. Lodestar helps us to offer our kids pieces of the puzzle that we can’t always find at home. Lodestar helps us to be the parents we truly want to be and raise our children more aligned with our family values. “
