” In the midst of the nightmare that is adolescence/teenage-angst, Metro Prep provided a safe & nurturing space for me to learn and grow as both a student, and responsible citizen of the world. The incredible teachers and administrators truly CARE, and take a concerted effort to make every student feel seen and heard. They made me feel supported, appropriately challenged, and made school somewhere I looked forward to being every day. I’m in touch with many of them even now, 10 years later, and envy the students who attend today! “
” This is a diploma mill school, not just for international students but also local domestic Canadian students. As long as you know the owner or the veteran teachers(and provide appropriate compensation that they deem), you can pass that math/science/physics/chemistry class you’ve been struggling with. They are doing a disservice to Canada in two ways: exacerbating the wage suppression by doling out diplomas to international students(which they charge expensively and provide housing to these students as well, so they make rent money AND tuition money from international students) AND by providing a shortcut to local Canadians who just want to cheat their way into an Ontario high school degree. “
” This is a racist institution. After completing at the school (graduating) and agreeing upon a payment plan, months later, they decide to sue for over 20K for unpaid dues. They have done this to multiple COLORED families. My question is – how did they even allow a student to graduate and issue a diploma if there was still a substantial balance? . School lawyer addressed the COLORED students by stating “not sure how these PEOPLE were even able to attend the school”. If I can rate 0/5, I would. “
” Metro was a huge part of who I’ve become as a friend, family man and professional. You can’t quite appreciate the significance your high school really had on you until it’s many years in the rear view; the more time that passes, the bigger impact I realize it’s had. Metro gave me the space and support to be myself, learn and grow – I’m thankful for the amazing teachers and community they provided me when I needed it most. “
” My son started at MPA at grade seven in 2015 and just completed high school in 2021. As a parent, I cannot fully express how much appreciation our family has for the school. My son grew up in Montessori schools (from junior kindergarten to grade six), so we due-diligenced thoroughly in choosing a middle/high school for him. We visited most private schools in Toronto and chose MPA. Little did we know back then that was the best decision for my son’s education. Over the past six years, MPA exceeded my expectations in many aspects. I will just list two here: 1. High quality teachers. From the principal office to each classroom, MPA teachers genuinely care about their students’ growth. Wayne, Deb, Ryan, Joanna, Michael, Eddie, Mark, Domnick, Sue, Abha, Adam, Bill, Vlad… too many to name. With the small class size (on average less than 10 students per class in my son’s case), teachers are able to provide individualized teaching at each student’s pace. During Covid, teachers not only worked extra hard to maintain academic standards but also went out of their way to keep extracurricular going strong. In fact, one of the teachers made news by adopting cutting edge technology to make online learning extra fun (kudos, Eddie!). 2. High quality students. MPA is multicultural in every sense of that word. My son’s classmates come from various backgrounds including several foreign countries. Some international students’ academic performance are so outstanding that they give us Canadians a run for our money. These international over-achievers’ strong work ethic and academic excellence have been a strong motivator for my son to work harder and eventually got into his dream university program. “It takes a village to raise a child” – the MPA village raised great citizens for Canada and beyond. “
