” My kids are at MJDS and they love it! The teachers are caring and dedicated. My kids are always excited to go in the morning – there’s always something interesting happening that they’re looking forward to. The facilities are really nice as well. It’s a warm community and my kids have really blossomed there. I would definitely recommend MJDS. “
” We’ve been at the school for almost 2 years. My older daughter started at MJDS when she was 4 years old. Getting to speak with some of the grade 7s and 8s and some of the Alumni students, you realize that this place is even more special than you thought. MJDS is creating mature, creative, confident thinkers who love to learn and who succeed in whatever they choose to do. The teachers and administrators are absolutely incredible. They are so invested in the success of each individual child. They really get to know each student and, in turn, they are able to help each student thrive and reach their potential. My daughter’s reading, writing, math, social skills and emotional development all continue to impress me every day. She is in love with the school and her teachers and misses it immensely when has to miss a couple of days. She has made some great friendships as have I as I’ve gotten to know the parents within this beautiful community. I was raised in the Jewish Day school system and I have never experienced a more supportive environment than MJDS. No one is better than anyone else, everyone is valued and appreciated for who they are and what they bring. My younger daughter is starting Casa in September and my older daughter will be going into Grade 1. I absolutely cannot wait to watch them grow up at MJDS over the coming years. “
” My daughter started at MJDS when she was 20 months old and in her peak attachment-to-mummy phase. While separation was hard for her at the beginning, it was obvious that the love, support and stimulation she (and I) received from her teachers, administrators and fellow students (fellow parents for me) felt her feel safe and happy and helped to ease the transition for both of us. The teachers were proficient at redirecting her focus and reassuring her while making her feel the warmth and love she received at home. The online platform uploaded with many pictures most days, the updates at the end of each day, and the supportive community of administrators and parents put my nerves at ease and reassured us that we made the best decision for our daughter. Fast forward a few weeks to today – she never wants to leave the school at the end of each day! She loves her friends and teachers, takes pride in the sense of responsibility she’s able to exert in the classroom, and is pleased that she can focus her time on activities she’s interested in. Those that interact with her outside of school, including her parents, are constantly impressed with the speed of her educational and physical development. Although skeptical at the beginning, I’m quite fond of the smaller student base, which encourages relationship building amongst the students of various ages, allows the administration and teachers to know each student, and results in strong support amongst parents. The education is uniquely geared to each student’s strengths and interests (the Montessori way) and the MJDS curriculum is thoroughly impressive. Each aspect of each activity is meticulously thought out to facilitate the best outcomes and the material that is taught and experienced is well beyond my expectations. I love that there is a full time Hebrew/Israeli teacher in each class, providing for an almost Hebrew- immersion experience. The various school events for parents and/or students (whether that be a Toilet Learning seminar for parents or community Purim Carnival and lots more) extend the fun and supportive sense of community beyond school hours. It is clear that MJDS prioritizes the happiness of each child and inspires a lifelong love of internally motivated learning. I couldn’t be happier with our decision to send our daughter to MJDS and look forward to her continued growth at the school for years to come. “
” MJDS offers children a wonderful inspiring experience of learning within a supportive community. There is a very carefully considered use of Montessori pedagogy within a Jewish setting. They teach Judaism in modern and meaningful ways, and are great facilitators of learning. I was fortunate to do observational studies of the classrooms, especially the Casa. There is a multi-age grouping of children that is nurturing. “
” Two of our children attend MJDS and it has truly become a second home for us and them. Both my children are genuinely excited to go to school every day and they have made beautiful friendships with their classmates. Both of our children are learning to be independent, respectful and leaders through the Montessori method. The school nurtures their love of learning and exploring that I wish I had growing up. We are extremely pleased with our experience and are so happy to be part of the MJDS family. “
