” Let me start by saying that I will subscribe to every positive review I’ve read for Penguin. Both of our girls attended this school from the moment they were age eligible and they absolutely loved it! I will restate that kids run into the school with eagerness and excitement. As a matter of fact, ours were often dancing in front of the doors eagerly awaiting opening time. Unfortunately, we had to relocate away from GTA recently, and we are missing Penguin quite a lot already. There are number of reasons for this. I will try to outline a few core ones: Personal approach Penguin class sizes allow teachers to spend time with, and address EACH student’s personal needs. We had four years to observe this in action. Every child learns at their own pace. Although curriculum is same for everyone, teachers ensure that when the student is struggling with a certain concept, they get positive encouragement and extra time to tackle the challenge. Same concept works in other direction – if something on the curriculum is “too easy” for the student, Penguin’s approach is to provide a bit more advanced level challenge to encourage further development. In plain worlds, kids never “plateau”. Curriculum Penguin ensures that the curriculum is compliant with public school program and regulations. Where difference comes from, is one teacher to five (absolute maximum) kids ratio. This allows teachers to explore the subjects deeper and base their class plans on students’ progress. It also allows adding more extras which would not be feasible otherwise. Just to name a few: yoga, speech development, sculpting in plasticine, drama classes, etc. Feedback It was mentioned in reviews before, but I do want to reiterate the complete openness in communication with teachers and school administration. As parents, we were always fully apprised of both of our girls’ performance and any particular development areas we should be concentrating on. What really makes a difference is the reverse feedback. Penguin really listens to what parents have to say and make changes based on that feedback. There are many more reasons why this school is a right choice. I would like to point out the main one which we observed over the years: Penguin Private School teaches kids to learn. ” Our son had a wonderful time at Penguin Private School. He LOVES going to school everyday and has blossomed academically in such a short period of time since the enrollment. All teachers are very attentive and really care for the students, their academics and personal growth. It feels like a big happy family with friendly atmosphere but at the same time with rules and expectations that are clearly stated.
