” After four years of having my daughter enrolled at this school. I’m not so sure how I feel about it anymore. My faith in the school and particularly the Head of the JR School has gone right down. Apparently there are no real repercussions to a student being assaulted at this school. They speak a lot about empowerment; yet when you speak to the head of their school; the answers you get are “we don’t do that here, we can’t do that, and that’s not how we do things”. I’m sorry but those are not very empowering words to say to a parent who is looking to ensure safety for his child while in the classroom or in the school. The way they deal with situations, especially when a student may be in danger needs to be handled at a much higher level than it is now. I left a meeting with the Head of JR School feeling worst then I came in! This meeting as told to me was intended to ease my mind as a parent. You would think that a private school of this supposed echelon would have staff in place in those leadership roles that would be better with people. I hope the Board of Directors tune into this and get people in place that can better handle situations. Furthermore as a parent of a student that has been loyal to this school; please don’t simply brush me off and hope the problem goes away… “
” St MIldred’s words…Our unique Signature Programs equip girls with real world learning and the skills they need to thrive as global citizens and leaders in the 21st century. Our experiences with these girls when out in the community participating in teacher monitored school activities has been nothing but appalling. These girls are not gong to “thrive as global citizens”. They don’t even recognize anyone else in their surroundings. They are Millie girls and the community should notice when they run or walk down sidewalks in our community. Like the parting of the Red Sea when they are on the sidewalks. You would hope that the teachers with them would be more apologetic but they are like those they teach. Whether walking as a class activity or on a charity run, they will mow you down. It doesn’t matter if you are alone or walking your very elderly parent. They don’t care what your age or physical health is. They own the sidewalks in Oakville. “
