Tayba Elementary School
” Tayba Elementary is mashaAllah an example and model for what schools should be like, not only in terms of Islamic Curriculum but also in terms of the standard of education. My son has gone to Tayba for both grades 7 and 8 and from the initial meeting with their office manager during our tour of the school, I was able to tell that everyone here truly is engaged, genuine and ehsaan-focussed. I appreciated that Tayba extends the school hours so that they can spend adequate time in the Islamic Studies portion, ranging from Tafseer, Arabic, Memorization, Recitation etc, as to not take away from class time dedicated to other core subjects such as math, French, sciences, social studies etc… I should also add that it shows that this is a passion project of the Principal and that passion extends into and through each of the teachers and staff members there. You can feel it in the halls, they way they treat the students and the many events and extracurriculars they offer. My son has grown tremendously, not only in academically, but in his character, his confidence and most importantly his Islam. “
” My children joined Tayba Elementary School two years ago, transitioning from public school to grade 7. I am immensely grateful to Allah that we made this decision—it has been the best investment for our kids. I highly recommend Tayba for anyone who can afford it, even if taking out of food budget. While some may perceive the fees as high, they are actually below expenses. Tayba operates as part of a non-profit organization, and parents receive tax receipts for part of the fees. The value of being in an authentic Islamic environment cannot be overstated in today’s materialistic world. At Tayba, my children experienced zero bullying, in contrast to their previous public school. The school not only met their academic needs but also nurtured their talents. For instance, my son received extra attention in math, which he needed. Additionally, he enjoyed playing soccer in the after school program. My kids also participated in an after-school poetry program where the school’s team got first place in a regional contest. Academically, the language arts teachers played a pivotal role in helping my son catch up after the disruptions caused by COVID-19. Also, the math teacher’s vision and dedication were remarkable—she not only taught but also guided students to avoid common mistakes seen in high school. While few teachers struggled with classroom management and resort to ineffective methods, I recognize that this is a common challenge in all Islamic schools. I hope that Tayba can provide more training to address this issue. However, looking at the big picture, this is not considered a major issue compared to the benefits and protection our kids received from an Islamic environment. Tayba feels like a second home for my kids. The students there made bonds and have grown together into respectful, proud Muslims, and I attribute this positive impact to the school’s nurturing environment. Some students will still have challenges, but they would have been double in public schools. I express my gratitude to Allah then to the Tayba staff for their tireless efforts in providing a clean, nourishing, and Islamic educational experience for our children. “
” The best experience may daughter has in an Islamic school. The staff is friendly and helpful. Teachers are certified and highly skilled. From a personal experience with the principle, I found her to be highly professional, kind and loving to all students and provides support to students who need it. I’m very happy to have Tayba school as our community school here in Waterloo. My daughter is having a very good academic and Islamic education at the same time. She is getting Quraa’n memorization, Islamic studies and Arabic language subjects which she really loves and enjoys. Tayba is a place for our children and community where we can gather in Ramadan for taraweeh and a place for our children to do extra curricular activities after school. “
” Tayba is a great school! My kids absolutely loved it there and it catered to all our educational needs as parents. It is strong academically, puts a lot of emphasis on character building, has zero tolerance to bullying and foul language and has a uniquely strong Quran curriculum. Tayba served us better than a famous and prestigious Islamic school in Mississauga. The principal in Tayba takes all parents’ concerns to heart and communicates effectively with teachers to proactively address bullying and inappropriate behavior by students. Tayba’s quality of education is unparalleled; it is a hidden gem in our community msA. “
” Definitely a top school I recommend for anyone who is seeking Quran/Islamic education for their kids in addition to providing distinguished and superior academic education. I had the opportunity firsthand to see the dedication of the staff in establishing Tayba Islamic Academy. The founder of Tayba Islamic Academy is one of the best teachers/ mentors I have worked with. I believe that Tayba Islamic Academy has the ability to give their students the support needed to develop and be leaders and productive members of their community while keeping their Islamic Identity. Wishing them all the best. May Allah swt bless all your efforts. “
